About My Obsessions

Rupert Grint
Rupert Grint, or like to be known as Rupey or Rupe or Weaselby by Princess Siti Grint, was born on Wednesday 24th August 1988. That makes him 17 years, 10 months and blah blah blah days and blah blah blah hours and blah blah blah seconds. He was plunged into the world of movies and fame and stardom when he was only 11 years old acting as the very famous Ron Weasley (yes, not only Harry Potter is famous, so is his best friend Ron). After his brilliant role as Ron in the first Harry Potter movie, Philosopher's Stone, he was casted as the permed-haired young scientist wannabe in Thunderpants. As he grew up, more girls have been queuing up to propose to him (okay, so maybe just me). After rave reviews of his brilliant acting in Goblet of Fire (some said that he almost stole the limelight from Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson), he acted as Ben in Driving Lessons and the movie has been chosen to play in Tribeca Film Festival and Cannes Film Festival. Right now, he's shooting the fifth Harry Potter installment. Though Ron is very dorky and sometimes not so brave and can be quite an idiot and has an emotional range of a teaspoon, the only similarities between Rupert and Ron are fear of spiders and big family. Rupert is unique. He rode the unicycle and played the Australian aborigines instrument thingy called didgeridoo. If he's not an actor, I bet he'll be good in Cirque de Soleil. Haha! But he's like any normal teenager; he loves to build model aeroplanes and play golf (heard he's really good at it).
Famous quote from Rupert: “Being famous is wicked. But it's better to be normal.” (PSG's Note: Good on ya, Rupe!)

Jake Gyllenhaal
You can say that Jake is one lucky chap. He's born on 19th December 1980 into a family of talented people; his father is Stephen Gyllenhaal (Director), his mother is Naomi Foner-Gyllenhaal (Screenwriter) and his sister is Maggie Gyllenhaal (Actress). His god-mother is Jamie-Lee Curtis and he was taught to drive by family friend, Paul Newman. He started as a child actor in City Slickers alongside Billy Crystal. Then he appeared in films such as Josh and S.A.M and Dangerous Woman. He then got his first starring role as Homer Hickman in the heart-warming story of an aspiring rocket scientist in October Sky (I cried my eyes out watching this movie). Later, he starred in other films opposite famous and well-respected actors like Dustin Hoffman and Susan Sarandon (Moonlight Mile); Chris Cooper (Jarhead and October Sky); Dennis Quaid (The Day After Tomorrow); Jennifer Aniston (The Good Girl); Anthony Hopkins and Gwyneth Paltrow (Proof); Jamie Foxx (Jarhead). Currently, he has done filming Zodiac as a cartoonist, Robert Graysmith who searched for an infamous serial killer in San Francisco (think Jack the Ripper). He has won accolades for his role in cult movie, Donnie Darko and Oscar-nominated movie, Brokeback Mountain where he starred as a gay cowboy named Jack Twist. He loves to cook (and good at it too!) and read. He loves Harry Potter (like me) and has named his two dogs Atticus and Boo after his favourite book, To Kill A Mockingbird.
Famous quote from Jake: “First, it's ‘Who is Jake Gyllenhaal?', then it's ‘Get me Jake Gyllenhaal!', then ‘Get me someone who looks like Jake Gyllenhaal!', and then it's ‘Who is Jake Gyllenhaal?'. Right now, I'm between ‘Who is Jake Gyllenhaal?' and ‘Get me Jake Gyllenhaal!'.” (PSG's Note: Right now, I think it's ‘Get me Jake Gyllenhaal!'. No more in betweens!)

Paul Twohill
Paul is a 17-year-old Singapore Idol 2 contestant who has won many hearts of the young generation and also some girls with his emo-rock style and his wacky weird personality and some do like his weird wacky hairdo that is similar to Addams Family. Addams Family or not, he has the talent so much so that he's now through to the Top 12 of Singapore Idol 2. Before he stepped into the limelight, he was in Catholic High School where he was in a rock band named Ecnerret (Terrence spelled backwards) and has won Catholic High Music Awards 2004 in the rock band category. So far, in the competition, he has sang 3 Doors Down's Here Without You and made one female contestant cried and another male contestant to vote for him 3 to 4 times and not thought for one second to vote for himself. Even though he's wacky, loves to laugh at the peanut butter jar at his home and wants to rampage Toys R Us if the world ends tomorrow, his personal goal in life is quite a serious matter: “Make it big one day doing what I love.” And not just that, one of the things that will make him nervous is “when my voice is having a real bad day because I start to feel that I won't put up a show that is up to standard.” Another one thing to know about him: He has three Friendster accounts now cos two of his accounts has reached the maximum limit of 1000. That's how many friends and fans he has. And he has a fansite made for him by Arshanti at Paul Twohill Fansite.
Famous quote from Paul: “You smell pretty!” (PSG's Note: Aww, thank you Paul! I bet you smell pretty too, though you're somewhere in Singapore and I'm somewhere in Singapore too and we're both quite apart. Heheh!)

Gale Harold
You can say that Gale is my inspiration. Unlike most actors and actresses out there, he started acting late at the age of 28. He was born on July 10, 1969 in Georgia, US of A, which makes him a Cancerian like yours truly. Whoopie! Before he started acting, he was a carpenter and loves and restores Italian motorcycles. Wahey, I love motorcycles too! When he was younger, he acquired a diploma and under a soccer scholarship to begin a Liberal Arts Degree in Romance Literature at American University in Washington , D.C. However, because of some “creative differences” with his coach, he left the capital to study Fine Arts at San Francisco Arts Institute. However, that didn't last long too cos he squandered his academic scholarship and forced to make other plans. Oh Gale! Since he loves Italian motorcycles so much, that led him to several years of restoring and pants-set mechanics with Moto Guzzi motorbikes. So, you're probably wondering: “Man, when will this guy start acting?” Well, you don't have to wait for long cos in 1997, on the brink of financial exile from San Francisco , he was urged by his compatriot Suzy Landau, producer for Francis Ford Coppola (Dracula & Tucker) to take his act to the stage. After being introduced to actor and director Joan E. Scheckel, he re-located to Los Angeles , beginning an intensive 3-year period of dramatic study and exploration. This led him to his theatrical debut as Bunny in Me and My Friend. He also made his feature debut as Booker in 36K. Then he was accepted and completed the Actor's Conservatory Program with A Noise Within classical theatre company. There he appeared in productions like Misanthrope and Cymbeline. Then, he got his breakthrough role as the unapologetic and brutally honest gay Brian Kinney in Queer As Folk which made me love him. Currently, he's acting in Vanished alongside Ming Na as Agent Graham Kelton.
Famous Quote from Gale: “You have to like your character, because if you don't, no one else will either.” (PSG's Note: Wahey, that surely works cos no matter how bitchy Brian Kinney is, I still love that guy! Other than the fact that he has nice ass and very sexy! Hahaha!)

Euro 2004: A Girl’s Perspective

Euro 2004 in the land of Portugal is on for about a week or so now… and boys and men are stuck in front of the black box at midnight to watch the matches live… I love soccer… a lot… and I guess my dear friends should know by now… but, as a girl, I also love good-looking men in shorts running all over the green field for a ball… so, I don’t just watch soccer for the beautiful game only… I do have to admit that I watch for the good-looking men as well… so, let me present to you, my girlfriends, the good-looking guys in Euro 2004… and if you don’t understand soccer, it’s okay… you can have other reasons to watch it… *wink wink*

Spain: Even if you don’t watch soccer, I bet most of you girls start to watch it because of the sexy-looking Spanish guys in the Spanish team… all of us started to support Spain, buy Spain jerseys because of these guys… if they don’t win the title, they are forgiven… because they provided us, girls, the eye-candy we need… the guys that are worth to mention are:

Iker Casillas:He’s the No. 1 goalkeeper for Spain… and he’s just a mere 23-year old… tall (1.85m), dark and handsome… and not to mention, he’s fast with his hands… we can’t ask for more! As quoted in his fansite, http://www.ikercasillas.8m.com/ ,“Boys love him because he is a great goalkeeper, and wants to be like him and girls love him because he is good-looking and they want to be with him.”

Fernando Morientes:This 28-year-old good-looking striker ironically looks a little bit like Casillas… somehow… the difference is… if Casillas is good with his hands, Morientes is good with his feet… oh, just as well!

Raul Gonzalez:Okay, so he’s married to a beautiful Spanish model… but still, he’s cute… this 27-year-old is not just an idol for the boys… but he’s also the idol for many hormonally-charged girls out there… and his wife is sure one of the luckiest women on earth to be married to not just a world-class striker but a good-looking one, to the envy of many women… some girls are just darn lucky!

Fernando Torres:In the world of soccer, he’s the future of Spain… in the girl’s world, he’s another cutie-pie that we’re going to see for a long, long time… because he’s just 20 years old… he has made lots of Spanish girls fall head over heels in love with him… so, now it’s the rest of the other girls around the world! Look out for him!

Portugal:I can guarantee you that Portugal was unknown to the girls before Luis Figo and Christiano Ronaldo… to be very honest, I was literally pulling my hair out to think of a good-looking player from this team other than Figo… until I remember there’s a certain Ronaldo…

Luis Figo:He’s skilful with the balls, fast and furious! Even though he’s 32 and married to a top Swedish model, Helene (lucky woman!), he still managed to make women drool because of his charm on and off the field!

Christiano Ronaldo:This Man U 19-year-old striker is definitely worth to be mentioned not just for his skills on the field… he’s not bad either in the looks category! I don’t blame the girls if Man U suddenly became their favourite team even after Becks is gone!

England:This team is one of the favourites in the tournament… not just for its soccer… but also for the players’ good looks… okay… so mostly Beckham… and yes, I will be putting his name in as one of the good-looking players in this list even though I am not a big fan of his…

Michael Owen:This Liverpudlian is not just one of the best strikers in the world… but he has charmed the skirts off the women across the world because of that charming good looks and great smile…

Owen Hargreaves:Okay… so you might not know who the heck is this guy… but the first time I saw him coming in as a substitute years ago… I thought he’s not bad… not bad at all… even though I had no idea who he was… keep a look out for this guy!

David Beckham:My oh my… no matter how much I want to deny it… I have to admit that girls love him because he’s good-looking… plus, he’s rich… but soccer-wise, even though he has the title of being one of the best free-kickers in the world, I just have to say that this year, he does not live up to that title…

Okay, so far… those are the good-looking players that I can think of… there might be others that I can’t think of… so if you happen to know any… just tag me…

Since I am talking about soccer, let’s talk about the real stuff… yeah, I’m going to talk soccer… as a fan of England, I will be very, very mad if that son-of-a-gun Beckham is going to take any penalties… because of him, England lost to France… if that stupid penalty kick is by Steven Gerrard, I can guarantee you that that ball is going to go past Fabien Barthez… and he has the cheek to say that he’s still going to take penalties even if he’s going to fail again… when he said that, one thing cross my mind… if he ever, ever going to be safe again in England, he better train hard for very basic penalty kicks… if not, he might as well be dead… this is not the first time he missed a penalty kick… one was against Argentina, then Turkey and now France… what’s next? And Portugal… no comments… they can’t sorely depend on Luis Figo… that guy is 32… he’s not going to stay around for long… they better use younger players… and the game against Greece was very embarrassing… they are expected to win and what do they do? When I watched the game, I thought I was watching 10-year-olds playing soccer instead of professionals! But lucky for them, they managed to win against, another surprising turn of events, Spain! After a goddamn 23 years, they won against Spain… And if you ever want to watch Euro 2004, better be prepared for lots of surprises! Italy is going to face being one of the teams to not get into the quarter finals… Czech Republic is the First team to get into the quarter finals… Czechs of all teams… Greece is virtually in as well… what’s next, people? The only non-surprise is, as fans expected, England and France made it through… I have a hunch that the finals will be a France – England match… by then, hopefully Owen is back on his scoring form again… Rooney has done his bit… now we just need Owen… and if Owen is back, I just have to say that opponents might be scared out of their wits… imagine on-form Owen and Rooney! The other teams better be warned!

Liverpool is now under the hands of former Valencia’s coach, Rafael Benitez, who is the man responsible for last season’s Valencia’s winning ways… I am glad that they could find a great coach and hopefully he could really do something about the team… and as he said in the official site, he is prepared to use the young Liverpudlians a chance to play… so that’s another good news… he takes risk… but with the new manager in, the assistant manager is out… Phil Thompson, the assistant manager of Liverpool for years is out! I feel like crying already…. He contributed a lot to the team and he’s out! Haiz… best of luck to Thommo, as we the Liverpool fans affectionately call him… so this means that there might be a new management team… but I am not sure if Ian Rush is still the strikers’ coach… hmm… let’s just wait and see what happens… so anyway, there are other good news… Djibril Cisse is going to be joining the Liverpudlians soon in July 1… and as Benitez said, with three great strikers, he can use everybody but it depends on the game… so he might change the attacking roles now and then… which is good because it means that opponents can’t second-guess who the strikers will be on a certain match as it depends on the game itself… hmm… I am looking forward to the new season… the future seems to be shining very brightly…

Okay, enough about soccer, something about my life as of now… let’s see… for the past days, my laptop has gone berserk with lots of viruses that I had to delete all those files that are infected with the viruses… and the culprits are Sasser B Worm, Blaster worm and Spybot Worm… and luckily for me, the files are those files that are so-called unimportant to me or the computer… you know, all those files that have 0 bytes… anyway, I have one day left till I turn a big fat 20… long gone will be my teenage years… I will be 20 years old… so, let’s see what I have done for the past 20 years… I have done quite well in my studies… thinking about it, I was a flop in Maths in Primary school and then suddenly aced in Secondary School… got a lot of crushes that I can’t count… fall IN love and OUT of love… learned not to judge a book by its cover… a so-called good friend of yours can still back-stabbed and betrayed you… thought about the days in CCK Band… those torturing sectionals, and full bands were a nerve-wrecking experience with the former band master, Mr. Chew, those criticism thrown to the band people, those great performances and bad ones as well… the time when I thought I lost my voice because of throat ulcer caused by bacterial infection from my instrument… those so-not-lovely PE sections… those times when I gained weight and lost some… the time when my 5/1 class freaked out when we found our class being ‘ransacked’ by the ‘Unknowns’ with tables and chairs stacked up in the middle like a campfire… the times when my friends got possessed… the time when I fought with my dad… the time when I fought with my mom… the time when my parents fought and I thought they were on a verge of divorce… those stressful times when I couldn’t separate my family problems with my studies that I almost gave up my studies and my life altogether… haiz… those are the days… I didn’t realize my life is very stressful until now… the day I turn 20, I am going to make a new resolution about my life… and you, my friends, would be the first few people to know about my resolution thanks to this lovely diary of mine…

My resolution in life:

1. Be more calm and relax

2. Fulfill one of my dreams to be… don’t laugh… an actress… yes, that’s my dream… haha… laugh all you can…

3. Another dream of mine is to set up a restaurant… hopefully with my best friend… I have this crazy idea of a new drink… but first I have to know how it will taste… haha… for all you know, it might be so-not-nice… haha…

4. Another dream of mine is to set up a marketing firm… but that seems to be a little unlikely as it will definitely have lots of competition… so until I find a crazy idea of how unique my firm will be, it will be un-fulfill-able…

5. Like any other girls, my dream is to find the right guy… not perfect… but the right one… and this guy will be the guy who will understand me and love me wholeheartedly… a guy who could turn my life upside down… in a good sense…

6. Linked to the 5th resolution, settle down with the man of my dreams (when I find one, that is) and have kids and grand-kids…

7. Linked to the above resolution, before settling down with that man, my dream is to have the best wedding I could ever dream of…

8. Travel all over the world… not in 80 days!

9. Bungee-jump at least once

10. Learn to sky-dive… at Genting Highlands… you know, that place where you can learn to do that safely on the ground… haha…

11. Go to that sea where you can just float but not sink… I don’t remember which sea is that… it’s good for people who don’t know how to swim… like yours truly…

So far, that’s what I can think of that I want to achieve for the rest of my life… anyway, my mom had planned to celebrate my birthday with cake and stuff with my closest cuzzins… and since it’s a weekday, Thursday, my parents had to take a half-day off… they did that just to celebrate my birthday… it’s sweet of them… actually when they ask me what I want for my birthday, I can’t think of any… for the first time… I always have something on my mind… but not this year… haha…

And oh yeah, school is going to start on June 28 if I am not wrong… and, I don’t know… I felt kinda nervous as I do not know who is in my class… so I have to do all those socializing all over again… but I felt excited as school is going to reopen and I am sick of staying at home already…

So, that’s it for now! Siti, out!
